What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Lanterna Promenade offers striking views of Genoa's port and the iconic lighthouse, enhanced by historical information signs. However, some visitors find the wooden floorboards unstable and are significantly put off by what they perceive as overly stringent and inconvenient security checks, including shared lockers, which can detract from the overall experience.
"Its only advantage is that it is in the shade. The floorboards move, giving the impression of a lack of safety for the user. The view from it to the port is... the same as from the lighthouse. It does not give any advantage. It is not beautiful, there are a few boards with historical information hanging on it."

"Built in 2001 with the aim of creating a "terrace" over the Port of Genoa, this beautiful 800-meter-long promenade offers sweeping views of the harbor, from the Darsena to the runway of Cristoforo Colombo Airport, passing through the old port, the Maritime Station, the ferry port, and the commercial port. The route follows the route of the 17th- and 19th-century walls and is dotted with information signs providing valuable directions."

"Let me start by saying that I have been here several times when I wanted to enjoy a beautiful view of the port and the hills of Genoa, it was peaceful... the lantern is so imposing!
.now it has become a complicated thing I went with my elderly parents and we found ourselves worse than at the airport treated like possible attackers bags searched at the entrance (ok, paying a very high ticket but two barriers are too many. The second check forces us to leave the bag in a shared cupboard with other visitors who as far as I know can take away the bags of others given that they do not have a ticket that pairs the person with the bag. It is not a well done thing and creates anxiety and leads to not even enjoying the visit. My parents having no pockets and finding themselves faced with this surprise were very upset to leave their bag with wallet and keys in a place shared with others!!..in well organized places at least there are separate narrows and everyone with their own key, shame!!....we had a ruined trip. congratulations for this rubbish you ruined everything. And I had spoken so well about it"
