The tranquility, especially in the Umbra Forest, is a major draw, though some note that certain beaches are accessible only through private resorts. "A beautiful tranquil space when visiting Italy. Nice, gentle forest. Not too crowded. Sweet “farmers market” to purchase local products at one trailhead. Plenty of places to purchase a snack or a meal. More like a park than a wild place."

Valerie Stone

"We "hiked" here in a 3 mile loop. The trees provide a canopy that makes for a cool walk. There was mud in . The sounds of bird song made this exceptional. We were alone for most of the walk except for the thousands of mosquitos; bring your bug spray. Make sure to see the deer near the visitors center and the turtles at the pond."

"wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature: beaches, mountains and a lot of curvy streets...a lot of beaches are only possible to enter if you stay in a tourist village, hotel or camping area...but you can still find a few wild ones...as bigger towns and hotspots for nightlife go to peschichi, vieste...beautiful roads, nature and way to monte sant angelo...visit the amazing church of the archangel michael...and the castle... ;-)"
