What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Abbazia di Sassovivo for its profound peace, stunning marble cloister, and the beauty of its ancient holm oak forest. It's described as a sanctuary, a place to feel 'at the center of the universe.' However, some note that a minority of visitors can be disruptive, detracting from the intended quiet atmosphere.
"One of my favorite place on earth. Remote yet one feels at the center of the universe. Back in 1200 was a true center of worshipping and power . It has been restored thanks to incredible efforts . An amazing peaceful place surrounded by century old trees and forest paths to be visited in silence . When I went the last couple of times there were few groups visiting and the most of them were incredibly rude chatting and yelling or simply not respecting the very kind invite to respect silence and everyone else coming there to pray ,meditate peacefully . So definitely a place to be visited more than once but never forgetting that disregarding any religious affiliation it is not really a touristic spot ."
