The good light allowed me to take a first clear photo: the one with the name, in wrought iron, leaning against the perimeter wall. Along with it, you'll find the others here, which I hope will help you imagine the greater wonder you might experience in person.
The museum, spread across four floors of a historic building, features a clearly well-executed renovation of the walls, as well as a careful selection of materials, the design of functional elements, and their coupling. Even just walking up and down the stairs, you can sense the quality I just mentioned. The "pieces" are well-matched. Combined with the warm welcome of the staff member we met at the entrance, they make the visit a moment of peace, as well as cultural enrichment.
The exhibits exhibit varying degrees of interest and value; Thus, we move from the magnificence of a chasuble to the unimpressive stature of a few paintings. Unfortunately, the curator decided to display too many exhibits for the available space, even adding (inevitably cumbersome) explanatory totems. This choice has resulted in multiple accumulations that prevent a full, consistent appreciation. Furthermore, the various audio tracks, which can be heard from one room to another while reading a few captions, are distracting. These audio tracks "flow" from an unusual number of videos projected or transmitted to gigantic monitors. A museum is, by definition, a place that doesn't require modern contraptions to be understood. If you want to offer visitors the chance to listen to a story, in support of human guides (whom they might not want to use, or not frequently), those sorts of telephones used thirty years ago, in their modern guise, could be an interesting option. I say this despite obviously understanding the best intentions of those who have translated the idea of disseminating knowledge in an innovative way into reality.
This museum, despite the inconsistencies in the quality of some of its exhibits and the poorly thought-out electronic tour guides (perhaps even avoidable), is worth a visit. Overall, it's interesting and capable of inspiring wonder.
