"Recommended only for those with the utmost respect for nature. A very, very beautiful area near the new cemetery. It's not very accessible in the summer due to mosquitoes, but for the rest of the year, especially in spring, it's a magical place of considerable interest. Perhaps a more constant presence of GEVs would be welcome. Unfortunately, I came across some dead birds... Second review after two years: Just this morning I discovered a part of the area I knew absolutely nothing about. I entered this discreet green space via the bridge over the ring road, on the border with Cologno Monzese. The park is quite large, right next to the ring road, with three circular walkways, one of which runs along the river. It's very pleasant to walk during the week, especially not in the summer due to the heat and the excessive number of mosquitoes (which are also present in the fall). The open area appears neglected and mistreated by those camping and lighting fires. I saw bonfire remains and garbage. However, it can be good when you don't have time or the desire to travel too much."

Understanding the Park's Layout
One of the park's defining features is its proximity to the ring road, which can be both a convenience for access and a source of background noise in certain areas. Despite this, the park manages to retain a sense of tranquility, especially along the riverbanks. The presence of three circular walkways, one of which follows the river, provides structured routes for visitors to enjoy their strolls or bike rides.
It's worth noting that while the park is beautiful, some areas can appear neglected due to uncivilized behavior, such as bonfire remains and litter. However, the core natural beauty and the abundance of wildlife, particularly rabbits, make it a worthwhile destination for those seeking a natural retreat close to the city.
Wildlife Encounters: The Rabbits of Valle Lambro
It's important to remember that these are wild animals, and while they seem accustomed to human presence, it's best to observe them from a respectful distance. Avoid feeding them, as this can disrupt their natural diet and behavior. The abundance of rabbits is a testament to the park's ecological health, providing a wonderful opportunity for nature observation and photography.
Beyond the rabbits, the park also supports various bird species, contributing to its biodiversity. The presence of these animals underscores the importance of preserving such green spaces within urban environments. Visitors are encouraged to be mindful and help maintain a safe and healthy habitat for all its inhabitants.
Navigating Challenges: Mosquitoes and Maintenance
Another concern raised by visitors is the occasional neglect and mistreatment of certain park areas. Reports of bonfire remains and litter suggest that some individuals do not treat the park with the respect it deserves. This can detract from the overall beauty and experience for others.
Despite these drawbacks, the park's natural charm and accessibility make it a popular choice for local walks and recreation. The advice from seasoned visitors is to plan your visit during cooler, drier periods and to always be prepared for the elements, ensuring you can fully appreciate the park's positive attributes.
