"Nice views even though it’s an artificial waterfall. The entry is pretty pricey considering it’s a short walk."
Ron Patishi
"Very nice experience.
A number of waterfalls that flow gently, until they open the dam and then the flow is very strong and exciting.
parking is 5 minutes walk from the entrance, near the ticket counter. we purchased online so didnt need to stand in line for tickets.
the park has two entrances - up and down (inderiore and superiore). This one is the bottom and i recommend to start from here.
check out the opening hours and the water release hours in their website before you visit and plan accordingly.
the park is also nice to see when the dam is not open, but its still much more exciting when it is open.
the dam opening isnt dramatic, its gradual so dont expect a sudden flood. but after a few minutes the current becomes very strong.
we started with going up on trail no. 1
its a climb of 600 stairs to the top .
there is a very nice view of the waterfall from the top.
then we went back down and theu trails 2 and 3 along the waterfalls which was awesome.
there is plenty if food and drinks around the park."

Use a waterproof camera bag or a rain cover for your camera. A lens hood can also help deflect some of the mist. Consider bringing microfiber cloths to wipe your lens frequently.

The Engineering Marvel: A Man-Made Wonder
This ancient system has been adapted over centuries, most notably with the addition of hydroelectric power generation in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The controlled release of water for electricity is what dictates the falls' flow, making it a dynamic attraction that can be experienced in different intensities. Understanding its history adds another layer to appreciating its grandeur.
Visitors often marvel at the sheer scale of this human intervention in nature. The contrast between the raw power of the water and the ingenuity of its redirection is a key part of the experience.
Navigating the Trails and Belvederes
Trail 1 is the most popular and challenging, involving approximately 600 steps that lead you from the lower to the upper belvedere. Along the way, you'll encounter breathtaking viewpoints and feel the invigorating spray. Other trails, like the 'Anello della Ninfa' (Nymph's Ring) or Trail 3, offer gentler walks and different scenic outlooks.
Remember to wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and bring waterproofs, as the mist can be quite intense. The park also offers a shuttle service between the belvederes, which is a convenient option for those who prefer not to tackle the stairs.
Experiencing the Water Release
It's crucial to check the official website for the water release schedule before your visit. The times vary depending on the season and day of the week. Arriving just before a scheduled release ensures you don't miss the most powerful part of the falls. The transition from a gentle flow to a roaring torrent is gradual but impressive.
When the water is released, the atmosphere becomes electric. Visitors gather at the belvederes, cameras ready, to capture the raw power. Even if you're not there for a full release, the falls are still beautiful, but the controlled flow truly elevates the experience.
