Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Segesta for its remarkably preserved Doric temple and the stunning views from its ancient theater. The free parking and affordable entry for children are appreciated. However, some find the site less extensive than other Sicilian archaeological parks and note potential issues with shuttle bus priority for tour groups and unexpected closures due to private events. Reddit

"Good site, with good viewing and plenty to see. For the price, I can't complain (under 18's get in free). There is free parking with plenty of spaces.

There is a shuttle that can take you to the summit (the temple doesn't require it) if you don't want to hike the 1.25km (approx 0.75 miles) to the top. For the price (€2.50) of a return (two-way) ticket, it was worth paying even if we didn't need it.

Luckily, for viewing, the weather was nice and warm, so the shuttle came in handy as the temperature ramped up.

Good place to visit to kill a few hours, but not enough to see here to take up a whole day, which left us with plenty of time to get to another attraction before the day was up."

Luqman Alli

"With the amphitheater and temple, it’s 100% worth a visit, however these ruins aren’t quite as impressive as other archaeological parks in Sicily. 16€ per adult without shuttle. It’s 2.50€ for a shuttle ride. The walk to the temple is very short (5 min) and the walk to the amphitheater is about 15-20 min up a hill. There is free parking and after the entrance there are toilets, a gift shop and cafeteria."

Eric Taylor

"The temple and amphitheater are wonderful and interesting. The view from the top is fantastic. Other areas are not as well preserved so use your imagination. The hiking is steep so pay the bus if you aren't sure you can walk it. I would highly recommend this park. It was very interesting to learn the history."
