"Imposing and well-preserved watchtower, with a superb position, on the coastal dune, between Lake Burano and the sea, in correspondence with the canal that joins them.
It was built in 1563 and was used to guard the coast and spot pirate ships that plundered the coasts. It was also visually connected to the other neighboring coastal towers.
It is perhaps the most evocative point of the WWF Oasis of Burano, a protected area since 1967.
It is almost always closed, and is rarely opened on a few occasions a year. However, you can always get close to the tower via the beach.
The Tower is about 2 kilometers from the access to the Macchiatonda Oasis beach, south of the lake, while it is almost 3 kilometers from Sandy Beach, north of the lake.
Beautiful experience for those who want to walk."
