What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Brescia is appreciated for its beauty, efficient metro, and cultural offerings, with the castle views and market being highlights. However, some visitors have had negative experiences with public transport ticketing and accessibility issues at the metro station, citing malfunctioning escalators and elevators.
"We bought two €14 weekly tickets and valid them on Saturday. When we took the trip on Wednesday, we were fined €39 for not holding a valid ticket. They know we are tourists and insisted on the fine. Meanwhile, they are letting many people pass. It was such an awful experience for someone who didn't know about their strange system. The conductor told us many people would buy the weekly ticket on Saturday and not valid it until Sunday. He literally told us what shouldn't be done.
I also need to mention he knows we are holding a €14 weekly ticket, but he still insists on issuing the fine. What a way to rip off tourists who are honest to pay"

"A ghastly place. It looks weird."

"It is unacceptable that both escalators going up are out of service, and also the elevator, forcing anyone getting off at the Bresciadue stop, to climb 2 very long flights of stairs up, just to be able to exit the metro station!!
I can only imagine what a feat it must be to do it, or try to do it, for an elderly person!!
What are you waiting for to repair the escalators and elevator??"
