What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are consistently impressed by the Oratory of San Pellegrino Bominaco's stunning 13th-century frescoes, calling them some of the best they've seen. The Romanesque architecture is also highly praised. However, the challenging accessibility and limited, sometimes unpredictable, tour availability are recurring points of frustration for those who travel a distance to visit.
"S. Maria Assunta church and S. Pellegrino oratorio are constructed in XII - XIII centuries. They are purest examples of Romanesque art. But moreover, there are beautiful frescoes of XIII centuries on the walls of oratorio.
It's not easy to reach Bominaco (only three buses in a day from L'Aquila) but it's worth of all labors!"

"Do want to discover how Christians lived 1000 years ago?
Visit the chape of Saint Pellegrino, I was pleasantly surprised with an icon of a Abba Nofer the anchorite, one of the desert saint of Egypt.
The chapel is still a functioning church also there is a guide who organise a tour in the morning and the afternoon."
