What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Piazza del Municipio is a charming and lively square, praised for its elegant neo-Baroque Town Hall and the vibrant Friday farmer's market offering authentic South Tyrolean products. Visitors appreciate its historical ambiance and its role as a central meeting point, though some note that markets may not be set up early in the season.
"At the end of the beautiful via dei portici there is this elegant but intimate square which takes its name from the beautiful neo-baroque Town Hall it houses. It is a square that is still alive today, like centuries ago. Even today, every Friday it hosts the traditional farmer's market where you can find fantastic South Tyrolean local products: cheese, speck, flowers, vegetables, fruit. Other beautiful buildings contribute to the beauty of the square, above all certainly Casa Ammon which features spectacular rococo stucco decorations. It is worth visiting, also because it is the final (or initial) stretch of the characteristic Via dei Portici, which starts from the beautiful Piazza delle Erbe."
