What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally appreciate GAMeC's minimalistic interior and the quality of its art, particularly the 20th-century Italian collection and temporary exhibitions. However, some find the contemporary art challenging and note a lack of English explanations for certain works. Despite minor drawbacks, many find the experience worthwhile, especially with discount tickets.
"I went there using free tickets by Bergamo municipium but believe me, they worth the money. You can't miss it."
Domenico Buonocore
"Firstly, I must admit that I’m not a great art connoisseur, so contemporary art is a bit hit or miss in my case.
What I did certainly enjoy was the minimalistic interior, greatly helping to appreciate the different art works.
Some works were great!
What was lacking in my opinion was more explanations in English to each work. There was some additional information available, but they were not translated into English, sometimes the title wasn’t even translated, which makes it quite difficult to connect and appreciate the work fully.
Prices are 7€ regular, 5€ reduced. We went on a weekend, no queue.
There quite some open exhibitions in old town in cooperation with the GAMeC that you can visit.
If you do, you get a flyer that allows you to enter the GAMeC at the reduced price (like we did :))
(Rated & graded as a museum.)"
Tymoteusz M.
"probably the worst museum i’ve ever been to, 10€ for what looked like a school exhibition of very unimaginative 14 year olds, a plastic zeppelin and maybe 2-3 relevant art works. jeez louise, i rarely regret going to any museum."
