What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Palazzo Fizzarotti is a visually stunning historical gem, particularly impressive when experienced via a guided tour. Visitors rave about the ornate architecture and rich history, though some note that the residential apartments within could use modernization. Access is primarily through scheduled tours, which are highly recommended for a full appreciation of the palace's grandeur.
"Quite interesting, if you get the tour. Important! You can only enter with the tour guide and the palace is not always open. Ask in the tourism information center for opening hours and tours. The duration of the tour varies (we have spent around 2 hrs) and usually around 40-50 people register (we only got in with Italian group)."

"Upon our return from a week long holiday in the UK we stopped over in Bari on 4 May 2019 and stayed in the apartment of Palazzo Fizzarotti. The building is impressive from the outside, but having read some disappointing reviews about the apartment we did not expect much. Well, we were awestruck upon entering the Pallazzo. It is even more beautiful inside than what we anticipated. The apartment was as expected not the best and this is a shame because structurally it is amazing and spacious. The bathroom was fairly recently renovated, but oh, the rest of it could be made so nice with just a few nice pieces of furniture. My hands were itching to be let loose with a modest budget. Nevertheless, the bed was comfortable and it was very clean. We pre-booked to have a guided tour of the Pallazzo and even though it was a Sunday we were taken around the landlord and landlady with gusto. They were both in their eighties, but very friendly and informative about the history and interesting little facts about the building and its previous owners. Both of them spoke excellent English and even though the tour was planned for an hour it took much longer because of all the banter and chatting. I would definitely recommend staying here and booking a guided tour."
