Built in the 5th-6th centuries on the ruins of an earlier Roman building and with materials from the former forum of Ascoli Piceno, it has been remodeled and restored several times over time, but has retained many of its original features intact. Of particular interest is the basin located in the center of the single room... most likely used for baptism by immersion."
