"Like every tower/castle, this one also has its own history and legends. One legend, in fact, tells that, for reasons dictated by jealousy, the wife of a member of the Challant family was imprisoned there and left to starve to death.
Another common theory holds that due to severe famine or various times of poverty, the population gathered in front of the tower (home of the powerful) begging for food, thus giving the tower its name.
It has three names: commonly the Bramafam tower, or Bramafam castle, but rarely also the castle of the Visconti of Aosta.
The ruins of the current castle probably date back to the second half of the 13th century, but a tower was present on the site earlier. For all castle lovers, unfortunately, it is not open to visitors."
