What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the breathtaking scenery and the rewarding hike to Montfort Castle, describing it as a majestic and impressive historical site. The trails offer plenty of shade and stunning views of green valleys. However, some note the lack of facilities like water or restrooms, and limited historical explanations at the ruins, suggesting pre-trip research is beneficial.
"What a breathtaking journey! The trail led us on an amazing walk, winding through hills and narrow mountain passes. Then, just like that, the majestic fortress came into view, revealing itself in all its glory. It’s hard to believe something so impressive has stood so strong for centuries."

"One of the best hiking trails in the North of Israel, lots of shade so it perfect even on hot days. there is a lot to see and about 4-5 different trails and the views are just amazing. this is definitely a please to come back to."
Keren Shwartzman
"Great views of green valleys with meditarranean tree groves and hilly scenery. European Castle ruins (not too much is left). Ca. two third of the trail quite level and even partly shaded. One third of the trail is quite steep, rocky and partly with stairs and not for everyone.
Historically and archaeoligically interested adults - or those that like a not so long but partly demanding hike - might like it quite a lot. Kids or uniterested maybe not so much.
Beware that there is no water drinking fountain at the whole trail and even not up at the fortress, so especially on hot days take quire a lot of water.
Pity, there are no explanations or maps or better upkeep and restauration. Pity, too, no restrooms.
And sadly, dogs are forbidden."
