Reviews Summary

Visitors find Andromeda's Rock a scenic spot with a rich historical and mythological background, offering beautiful views of the sea and Tel Aviv. While some find it an ordinary rock, others appreciate its legendary connections and the charm of the surrounding Jaffa port. It's often seen as a quick, worthwhile stop during a visit to the historic city.

"At the exit from the Jaffa port stands a special rock that has been associated with a variety of legends.
‏The rock is called Andromeda Rock after the Greek's mythology story, here as described in wikipedia:

"Andromeda is the daughter of the Aethiopian king Cepheus and his wife Cassiopeia. When Cassiopeia's hubrisleads her to boast that Andromeda is more beautiful than the Nereids, Poseidon sends the sea monster Cetus to ravage Andromeda as divine punishment. a sacrifice to sate the monster, but is saved from death by Perseus. ".
Another legend associated with the rock comes from the Bible- the legend tells Noah's sons built Jaffa before God sent down the flood. Therefore after the flood ended they buried Noah under this rock.

Today there is no sign of Andromeda or Noah, but every visitor in Jaffa can come to see the beauty of the rock, whether from the land or while sailing from the port."

"A scenic spot with rich history. It’s related to Greek mythology, i have posted a picture giving more details about the story. This and several other spots in the old town Jaffa can be covered in a few hours staring from the smiling whale. You can see the beach all the way to new city tel-Aviv. Once we were done walking every where in old town Jaffa we took a cab using Gett app back to new city from this point. It was very convenient."

"According to Greek mythology, Andromeda was tied to one of the rocks somewhere along the shore and offered to a sea monster. She was rescued by Perseus, who used the head of Medusa to turn the monster to stone. The rock Andromeda was once chained to is, as the legend goes, still here today."
