What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise Mount Errigal for its stunning natural beauty and the rewarding hiking experience. The recent addition of a new path has significantly improved accessibility and enjoyment. While the weather can be unpredictable, many find the dramatic landscapes captivating even in fog.
"It is 4 weeks today since we got married in The Mount Errigal hotel. We are still in AWE of how amazing everything was on the day and on the lead up to our big day.
It is clear that this a well run family business. The communication with this hotel was impecible. The hotel has been done up and is the perfect setting for any wedding.
Our wedding coordinator Bronagh went above and beyond with anything we asked. Escpecially for the 3 children attending by making sure the kitchen had their specific food likings in stock to an on the spot kids disco in the corridor on the day that made my nephews day before going home. I met with Bronagh the week before the wedding to run through all the finer details such as specific songs for cake cutting anything discussed was followed through with on the day
Every single member of staff who was working that weekend from breakfast, waiting/bar staff, reception and house keeping were all amazing and there to help with anything myself ,Paul and our guests needed.
We are still having people tell us how gorgeous the food was, how impressed they were with the timely service of food on the day compared to other wedding venues they have attended and how friendly/helpful all the staff were.
I had some added extras such as candy cart, crisp wall and some items for guests to be put on each table. The staff set all of this up which took the pressure of a stressed bride.
The honeymoon suite was out of this world and it is an added bonus that we got the night after the wedding included in our package. We had alot of guests travel for the big day who stayed in the hotel and everyone was happy with their rooms.
We had a lovely evening in the hotel for our day 2 in the main bar with lovely food and live music provided by the hotel.
I cannot recommend this venue enough for any couple getting married in the future."

"Not really up to 4 star. Stayed 2 nights with friends. 13…15 October
The room was large but bland. Stains on carpet. No info leaflet, not everyone can do the scan thing. The bathroom left a lot to be desired. No shelf, no towel rail, therefore couldn’t reduce reuse or recycle.shower tray with hairs, glass screen dirty all grouting n woodwork needs. A good clean the curtains are ill fitting, the drawer wouldn’t close properly due to bulky hairdryer. No bath sheets n the smallest bath towel I have ever come across. Towels on bed a complete no no. Multiple stains on carpet. 2Cups n saucers supplied with only one teaspoon. Wardrobe space generous. Small tv for size of room n that needs reprogrammed as we could only get shopping channels.it didn’t fit recess either. No temperature control. Meal on first evening 1st class. Good choice n well presented. Background music AWFUL. Lovely area to dine in. Breakfast on our first morning not great. Cold eggs, and no continental selection. Why was there no potato or soda bread, a staple in Ireland. Not impressed
D with breakfast salad. Apples apples n more apples. Whole layout needs rethinking. Why pump things for jams etc???? Richard very friendly, chatty n helpful. 2nd evening meal as first. Loved the fittings n comfy seating in the foyer. Didn’t like worn wooden top tables in bar, very unhygienic. Ruby was a joy to meet. Signage on doors leading to n from areas should be on both sides . All in all a pleasant stay but on the whole the hotel is not up to 4 star as other hotels I have stayed in. Lift far too small for size of hotel, only 3 persons with luggage at one go."

"Stayed for a linedance weekend. Hotel is being refurbished. The bedroom was lovely. Bathroom had a shower above the bath. It had a big shower head and a small one. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was good although service a little slow."
