"A nice walk up the towpath towards Carlow up to clogrennan lock. About 4 km each way. At Milford there’s the coffee dock and saunas."
John H (J.out&about)
"Stunning location. Love walking down along Milford canal as far as the lock and back up to the weir. The resident heron is nearly always present. Lovely old mill there, but you can't go in around it. This is a hydroelectric plant, and in 1891, Carlow became the first inland town in Ireland or Great Britain to be lighted throughout with power from this location. Very peaceful place, a shame there isn't picnic tables put in for the summer months. Highly recommend a visit."
