Reviews Summary

Visitors find Magazine Fort to be a historically significant and visually striking site within the expansive Phoenix Park. The challenging incline to reach the fort is noted, as is the opportunity to see wild deer in the park. While the fort's historical context is appreciated, some mention its state of disrepair, though recent restoration efforts are a positive sign. Reddit

"In the process of being restored. There was a tour starting from the Visitor's Centre and there might still be one, but it would probably be best to wait for the work to be completed.
Hoping to see it fully restored one day."

Andrew Sowerby

"The fort is in disrepair and unaccessible from the inside. You are able to walk around it. The City Council is attempting to repair and reopen the site. After those repairs, this will be a much neater place to visit. In the meantime, if you are nearby, it's a quick 10 minute walk from the nearest parking lot. There unfortunately are no informational signs about the Fort that are visible from the outside. Be on the lookout for the herds of fallow deer that may be nearby. They are relatively tame."

Mister Jon

"Nice fort on a height of land overlooking Dublin. Currently not accessible to the public because of restoration work."
