Reviews Summary

Dalkey is praised as a charming and convenient seaside village, easily accessible from Dublin via the DART. Visitors appreciate its picturesque streets, friendly atmosphere, and coastal beauty. However, large events like the Lobster Festival can be overwhelmingly crowded and poorly organized, leading to disappointment.

"Do not go to Dalkey Lobster Festival on a warm, dry Sunday. It took us 1 hour to walk 100 meters and another hour to return to dart station. Queues for food (at €25 for a small handful), were 60 to 80 people in length. It was absolute chaos. No organisation whatsoever. We bought nothing. Those we spoke to complained of the meager portion of lobster served in a lobster shell.
I'll stick with Oyster festivals in future, at least you get a full oyster."
