The Folk Park is a particular highlight, offering a vivid glimpse into 19th-century Irish life with engaging costumed interpreters. While the castle itself is impressive, some find the spiral staircases challenging. The Medieval Banquet is a highly recommended, albeit pricey, unique dining adventure.
"The castle and village/park is pretty awesome. The restoration did and amazing job of sticking to what it would have been. Including the furniture being hundreds of years old (not original to the castle but just as old and from that area and time period. Most def recommend and set aside maybe 2-3 hours if you are going self guided. You can then take your time. Plus there is a Pub to catch a drink!"
Vanessa Graber-Salinas
"Great day out, the castle staff were very knowledgable and offered information as you walk around. The folk park showcased buildings from different eras, with lots of little niche shops such as a print shop and a scarves/accessory store. Really liked chatting with the staff there about the history of the buildings as it added value to the experience. There is a pub on site for a beverage or two."

"Bunratty is a beautiful place. Love the folk park. It’s really like going back in time to see the way things were. Lot of information and history. You can explore pretty much the entire Castle from the dungeon to the tower. Furniture, paintings, tapestries, flags and mounts are all still there in each room. Really gives you a sense of the time period then. Lot or shops on each side of the road. This was our 3rd visit here and it’s always a stop when we go to Ireland. We always get most of our gift shopping done here. There’s plenty of parking if going to the castle and folk park."
