What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tiga Warna Beach is lauded as a stunning, well-maintained conservation area offering incredible snorkeling and unique colored waters. Visitors appreciate the eco-friendly management and the natural beauty, though the trek can be challenging. Some recent reviews note a decline in coral health and increased trash, contrasting with its pristine reputation.
"Originally en route to Teluk Asmara, we were redirected by a local driver to Pantai Tiga Warna—a hidden gem tucked within a conservation area. Access is limited to preserve the ecosystem, so advance reservation is highly recommended; we chanced a walk-in and were fortunate. Upon arrival, staff conduct an availability check, followed by a brief orientation. Visitors are then transported via trike to another checkpoint, where belongings are inspected to ensure no littering—items are rechecked upon return. A certified local guide is mandatory, though costs are more economical if shared among a group.
Our guide offered a boat ride to shorten the trek, though this depends on tidal conditions. The journey is not for the faint-hearted, passing through eerie, submerged mangrove areas that eerily conjure thoughts of crocodiles. However, the effort is well worth it: Pantai Tiga Warna reveals a pristine beach with vibrant snorkeling opportunities. For those who choose to hike back, a visit to nearby Gatra Beach—facing Teluk Asmara—makes for a scenic finale. That said, the terrain is demanding, and I would advise against this trip for the elderly or those not in good physical condition."

"You wont regret coming here! Really recommend this place! You need to get a local guide at the office near the parking lot, it will cost for 100-200 thousand for the local guide. The guide will show you the way to the beach. It takes around 1 hour tracking into jungles, but when you get there it will pays off. You can rent some snorkels to swim, swim directly from the beach into the sea and see how beautiful the corals there! One of a kind beach with stunning view that will give you the brezze!"

"WARNING!! The scoring in the previous years were really good on google map, however we went today and the scenary has completly changed:( The coral reefs are dying and there is SO MUCH trash in the water and on the beach coming from the nearby harbour. Would not recommend! However, in the same entrance to this beach you can access another beach (part of the same protected area) and it is gorgeous with not a single trash. In the end, we got to see one of the prettiest and ugliest beach in the same day;)"
