Visitors praise the Thamrin-Sudirman Corridor as a vibrant hub with iconic landmarks like Bundaran HI and excellent city views from transit stops. It's convenient for shopping and dining, with efficient public transport options. However, some find it crowded, especially on weekends, and note that restrooms could be cleaner.
"Best spot to take photos with a Jakarta view (Bundaran HI and several towers).
This halte had several restaurants, toilets, mushala, and photo spots.
I came here at noon when the sun getting down with a cloudy sky. And when returned from Kota Tua, it was a storm.
But, we just took a picture here when storm happened. 🙏😅
The rain was pouring heavy until the floor wet and we hardly crossed the road to the MRT Station."

"It's my first time to visit this bus halt, interesting and has a good view towards iconic Jakarta's Bundaran HI fountain and historical buildings around.
At top floor is a food street and there's a small Musholla.
I suggest installing an aircon inside Musholla cause it's hot inside during bright daytime, outside was a lot cooler.
We visited this place on Sunday around 11-12:00 PM, was a bit crowded."

Mastering Jakarta's Public Transport
Complementing the MRT is the TransJakarta bus system, a vast network of dedicated bus lanes that crisscross the city. Many TransJakarta shelters along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan M.H. Thamrin are not just transit points but also offer elevated platforms with excellent views of the surrounding skyscrapers and the Bundaran HI roundabout. Travelers often recommend using apps like Moovit to plan routes and check real-time bus arrivals, which can be invaluable in a city known for its traffic.
When using public transport, be prepared for crowds, especially during peak commuting hours. Arriving slightly before or after these times can make for a more comfortable journey. Remember to have your fare ready and be aware of your surroundings, as with any busy urban transit system.
Capturing the Urban Vibe: Photography Tips
For the best light, aim for the golden hour just before sunset, when the city is bathed in warm, soft light. However, Jakarta is also known for its dramatic, sudden rain showers, which can create unique photographic opportunities with wet streets reflecting the city lights. If you're visiting at night, the vibrant neon signs and building illuminations transform the corridor into a dazzling spectacle. While casual photography is generally welcomed, be mindful of privacy and avoid intrusive photography, especially in commercial areas or private establishments.
Culinary Adventures in the City Center
Beyond the malls, the streets and smaller eateries offer a chance to explore authentic Indonesian cuisine. Don't shy away from trying local favorites like Gado-Gado (vegetable salad with peanut sauce) or various types of soto (traditional soup). For those seeking a more refined dining experience, numerous upscale restaurants are scattered throughout the business district, offering fine dining with city views. Some TransJakarta shelters also feature small cafes, providing a convenient spot for a coffee break with a view.
