Reviews Summary
Reviews for Pura Segara Ulun Danu Batur are mixed. While some appreciate its unique 'floating' appearance and tranquil atmosphere, others point to its run-down condition, bumpy road access, and perceived rudeness from some locals. The entry fee and mandatory donation are also points of contention for some visitors.
"Tourist trap. The road to get here was a bit bumpy. Certain angles of the temple looked cool for photos, but that's about it. Price is 2k for parking and 50k per person entry (mandatory donation), not too long ago it only cost 25k. They will also offer a sarong and sash. Toilets have no running water, toilet seats, toilet paper, or soap. The entire place is very old, run-down, needs maintenance, repairs, and a lot of love. Wish the people that pocketed the money here would actually make this place nicer.. because it has potential. It's just sad and a waste of time. The only nice part was that we were alone.. idk if that's nice for other people or not. Lol"

"I have mixed feelings. The temple is pretty but there was very little water surrounding it (maybe more so in the wet season) and a bit of rubbish. The rest of the area is a mixed matched jumble of nothing. It seems strange they charge you to enter. I had my own sarong but they still insisted on charging me to supply a sash… which clearly I didn’t need. The road is quite bad to enter and had I had all this info beforehand, I probably wouldn’t have bothered."

"People working there were rude to us. You do not need pay anything to them if you have your own scarf to cover legs and you can BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY donation. I do not recommend this place because atmosphere there made by locals was really rude and aggressive. Temple is nothing special, there are many more beautiful."
