What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pinto Khop is celebrated for its unique 'kupi khop' coffee experience, where visitors learn to drink coffee upside down. The historical setting of Taman Putro Phang adds to its charm. While the coffee is a standout, some find other food options average. The friendly service and the owner's English proficiency are also noted positives.
"Not bad lahh..
People come here for the most authentic Aceh coffee & drink it in Aceh's way = khop. But since my friends& I don't order the coffee, we don't know the taste.
The other tipe of drinks are so-so. Maybe they focus only on the coffee.
The noodle & ice cream waffle are good, although the waffle looks like pancake to us.
We also have corn fritters (bakwan jagung), but we hardly find the corns, mostly only flour.
The service is fast, the waiters are nice.
But I don't know if I would come back again."

"This is the place where Luthfi, Harry, and Anam took me.
This is the only place in Banda Aceh they could find their hometown featuring coffee here, "the up-side-down coffee".
Three of them are all come from Meulaboh.
So, they said this store is their second home, again....XD
And the owner is one of the past-Aceh (tourist) cultural ambassador winner and he really speak very fluent English.
Yes, here I first tasted the up-side-down coffee,
And really, it is so unique and all sounds logic why they make it up-side-down.
Because they brewed the coffee in the cup with grounded coffee (not instant coffee), and that's why it would be better to drink from up-side-down because all the grounded coffee beans were be on that top (cup bottom), and all the liquid will remain on the bottom (cup open).
And that's why it's up-side-down and we have to drink with a straw.
That's a wonderful night, where I also tried the local Acehness beetle nuts, the sweet one, for the very first time.
Yes, it did taste like the same, and the smell, of the beetle nuts that I can find in Taiwan.
However, I think I could endure that and I did taste it.
But I would like to try the bitter one that Harry told me....XD!"

"Well known place among youngsters in Banda Aceh. Recognize by its unique way of drinking coffee, yes!! You'll drink your coffee by turn the glass upside down. Don't worry about messing around the table (like I did 😅) the waitress will guide you how drink it! Absolutely great moment! Snacks, yeah they have a lot of kind of snacks. No problem of snacking here..If you need your dinner menu, they also have them. Just checklist in the box menu, you'll have your stomach a satisfaction guarantee. Remember to visit Kupi khop at Banda Aceh 👋😃👍"
