"Pasar Gedhe Solo is definitely a haven for traditional market food, It’s a perfect place for tourists who are looking to explore local culinary gems. The people around the market are generally friendly, and the prices are still super affordable. Just like any other traditional market, it’s pretty packed and the traffic can get quite messy, especially since some of the streets are used for parking.

The food court on the second floor actually has a nice variety of options, but sadly, the seating area is quite limited. Honestly, this market might not be the best place if you’re hoping to eat in peace. While I was eating, I was approached by street vendors and buskers more than five times. It’s something you need to be ready for if you decide to eat there.

What really disappointed me was the uncomfortable and intimidating experience I had with a group of buskers. There was a misunderstanding which I was simply taking a picture of the market to show my friends the update about our sitting place, but all the buskers suddenly confronted me and demanded that I should delete the photo because his was in it. I immediately admitted my mistake and apologized, but the way they approached me felt overly aggressive.

Ironically, there’s actually a warning sign on the first floor from the local authorities about these buskers, which makes me think this might not be a one-time thing. Honestly, this kind of experience can really ruin an otherwise good visit. I really hope the management and local government can pay more attention to this issue and make the market safer and more enjoyable for all visitors."

"What can i say.. it's all about the wide array of food sellers here. Don't get me wrong, it's an actual traditional market, so don't expect it to be comfortable, but do come with empty stomach"
