What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Fort Marlborough for its historical significance, well-maintained architecture, and impressive city views from the ramparts. The affordable entry fee is a major plus. However, the lack of English-language information and guides is a recurring point of disappointment for international travelers.
"If you love history and/or the colonial story of the English and Dutch in this part of the world then definitely go here. The fort is well maintained and there is a private tourguide who gives excellent information. Inside the fort you can freely walk around and also go up to the walls from where you have a beautiful view over the city and a little bit the ocean. One thing the museum could improve is to provide English speaking guides and English written information. Everything is in Bahasa Indonesia and clearly not prepared for international visitors. Other than that we enjoyed the tour."

From the top of this port, you can see the beach and the perfect sunset. Going to Bengkulu? You must putting this biggest port in Asia at the top of your visiting list."
