What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the exceptional service and safety standards of Nusa Dua's dive centers, particularly NDDC, with guides like Martinus and Martin receiving high praise for their expertise and attentiveness. The opportunity to see diverse marine life, including manta rays, is a major highlight. Some minor dislikes include potential crowds during peak season and the need for advance booking for popular tours.
"Nusa Dua Diving Center the best place to dive in BALI …in fact all the crew ( Owner ..young Girl in the office. ship skipper …mariners but the dive instructors…ohhhh increíble work all of them …specially Martinus….Really i full recomended this place ! They make feel at home ! I wait in Argentina 🇦🇷 my friends"

"Excellent dive center and superior guides/instructors. Martin was the perfect guide. He set up all of our equipment and made sure everything was perfect. We brought our own equipment and he personally rinsed it off and hung it up to dry after every dive. They let us store our equipment at their shop so we didn't have to carry it back and forth from our hotel. Picked us up and dropped us off every day! He even offered to rinse our equipment off and bring it to the hotel after we finished our last dive. Lunch included every day and they made sure to take care of my wife who is vegan!"

"We made our open water dive certificate with NDDC during our holidays in September 2025. The staff and dive masters were very kind with a main focus on safety which made us feel very comfortable as suba newbies. They were also very honest when the weather was not ideal and a trip to Manta Point was in question, so in the end the trip was cancelled and they were fine to not charge us and instead postpone the dive a few days. It was a really good experience for us and we'd like to say thanks again to all the ppl we met there (particular I Made Arnita and Martin) for their focus on safety and for our certification as open water divers. NDDC in Bali is very recommended and trustworthy throughout - enjoy you experience and don't hesitate to contact them directly. Best regards from Switzerland, Pascal & Ricarda"

Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
When choosing a tour, look for operators that emphasize safety and have experience with younger snorkelers. Consider packages that include lunch and easy transfers to minimize travel stress. For older children or teens interested in a bit more adventure, a day trip to Nusa Penida for a chance to see manta rays can be an incredible, albeit more involved, family outing.

Exploring Nusa Penida's Marine Wonders
Many tour operators offer dedicated Nusa Penida snorkeling trips from Bali. These tours typically include hotel pick-up, fast boat transfers, guided snorkeling sessions at multiple sites, and lunch. It's crucial to choose a reputable operator that prioritizes safety and environmental conservation. Guides are experienced in locating manta rays and ensuring a respectful distance is maintained.
For those seeking an even more immersive experience, scuba diving in Nusa Penida is highly recommended. The waters can be deeper and currents stronger, so it's best suited for certified divers. However, even for snorkelers, the sheer abundance and size of the marine life make Nusa Penida an unforgettable adventure. Remember to use reef-safe sunscreen and avoid touching any marine organisms to help preserve this precious ecosystem.
Snorkeling Directly from Nusa Dua Beaches
The advantage of beach-based snorkeling in Nusa Dua is its ease of access and lower cost compared to island excursions. You can rent gear from local vendors or bring your own. The waters are generally calm and shallow, making it a safe environment for families and novice snorkelers. While you might not encounter manta rays here, the vibrant reef life is still captivating.
When visiting Geger Beach, look for the floating buoys that mark the snorkeling area. It's a good idea to check the tide times, as visibility can be better during high tide. Remember to wear reef-safe sunscreen and a rash guard to protect yourself from the sun and the coral. This accessible snorkeling experience is a perfect way to enjoy Bali's underwater beauty without a long journey.
