"absolutely shocking, they sell completely rotten vegetables ( WHICH CAN KILL YOU ) even when asking the staff about it, they know it is rotten but don't take it off the shelf because there isn't a new delivery... INSANE.

"The general goods and foods is high for variety. You can find almost anything you need here for every day or monthly needs.
Discounts is good especially the one with "cek 2 kali" tag which they claim as the most cheap than any other retail with compensation if their claim isn't true which is almost always true from my experience.
Why I put only 🌟 🌟 🌟 is because the time that wasted when you queue to pay. The cashier is not enough at least open it all, it's usually only 2-3 cashier that have opened."

The Diamond Trade in Martapura
Visitors can witness the entire process, from rough stones to dazzling finished pieces. The sheer volume and variety of diamonds on display are astounding. While the name suggests a focus solely on diamonds, it's important to note that gold and other precious gemstones are also a major part of the market's offerings. Many vendors specialize in intricate gold filigree work, often incorporating local diamonds and other gems.
For those interested in purchasing, understanding the basics of diamond grading (cut, color, clarity, carat) is beneficial. While many vendors are honest, it's always wise to be an informed buyer. Some travelers recommend seeking out jewelers who offer certifications for their stones, providing an extra layer of assurance for significant purchases.
Navigating the Market and Bargaining
Bargaining is an integral part of the shopping culture here. Don't be shy about negotiating prices, but always do so respectfully. Start with a lower offer than you're willing to pay and be prepared to meet somewhere in the middle. Having a clear idea of the market value for the item you're interested in will give you confidence during negotiations. Many reviews highlight that cash transactions often lead to better deals.
When inspecting items, take your time. Look for any imperfections, check the craftsmanship of the settings, and ensure the stones are securely mounted. If you're buying a significant piece, consider asking for a certificate of authenticity. While the market is generally safe, it's always wise to be aware of your surroundings and keep your valuables secure.
