"Goa Tetes is one of the coolest waterfalls I’ve ever experienced. It’s a collection of waterfalls and caves that you can explore (and climb if you’re careful and capable.) This place scratched every itch that lingered from childhood - climbing, exploring, water, nature. It was AWESOME.
Entrance was 50k for bules, free for Indonesians. (Pricing is all over the place though, seems to depend on the person. Just hold on to your ticket). ‘Goa Tetes Trail’ is where we started. You follow a set of stairs down until the area opens up into this slanted pathway along the sticky rocks. A cheap pair of water-shoes is all you need. Flip flops will be a pain in the butt and your boots/sneaks will get wet.
The rocks aren’t particularly slippery - just check your footing as you continue on. I climbed up into a few of the caves which was the highlight of my day.
It beats all the waterfalls in Bali along with its big neighbor - Tumpak Sewu. Don’t rush through this place - get a few quicks photos but then put away your phone, explore and enjoy.
Note: You can continue on to Tumpak Sewu (and pay another 50k) - which is worth it but you may find yourself missing Goa Tetes. If you want to go back up out of the canyon from Tumpak Sewu, you have to pay more (probably another 50k). We decided to hike back the way we came. We also had a decent lunch at Cottage and Resto Sambas 2."

"It was very nice being there. We were supposed to go to Tumpak Sewu, but because of the heavy rainfall the night before and in the morning, they said Tumpak Sewu is closed. I was dissapointed at first but after enjoying so many waterfalls and caves, I really loved it we ended up in Goa Tetes. Alhamdulillah, we get better than what we hoped for."
