What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Batu Cermin Cave a unique and adventurous experience, particularly appreciating the 'mirror effect' and the geological wonders. While the cave requires some physical agility and awareness of the natural environment, the affordable entry and engaging guides make it a worthwhile stop near Labuan Bajo.
"I went there in the afternoon before my flight to the airport. For only IDR 70k, I got an entrance ticket and a guide for the cave. They said that outside the cave, there’s a snake habitat, and some locals have formed a community that hunts them at night. The cave itself is dry and easy to explore for visitors. It's best to come around midday when the sunlight reflects beautifully inside the cave"

"Lovely Tour!
Bring your own torch if you can
We visited this Cave through a tour organised by 'Seek Sophie'. Once there we were met by a lovely local guide who took us through the greenery (with the occasional monkeys) to the Cave and explained all the fossils and history behind this area. He kindly gave us some helmets that came with torches, but they weren't very bright, so luckily we had our own. Once equipped you'll duck crawl through some right spots to see an ancient fossilized turtle, beautiful caves and what are the most humongous crickets I've ever seen!
It was great to experience the non-aquatic sights of Komodo. We enjoyed it!"

"Not too bad for a cave visit. Won't take more than an hour to complete. We had a guide along which he brought along a LED torchlight. A certain part of the cave where you need to wear helmet. You need to squat and crawl into it for a part of the cave. We had the sun ray shining into the cave at a point. The guide was superb where he took many photos and videos for us without complaining. The mushroom rock is just a pitstop for photo."
