What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Vattakottai Fort is praised as a beautiful, peaceful, and well-maintained historical site offering stunning sea views. Visitors appreciate its manageable size for a short visit and its affordability. Some find the journey to the black sand beach less straightforward from the fort itself.
"It's a Beautiful place to visit near Kanyakumari. We took reserved auto(no share auto). It took rs. 600/- pick and drop(including 1hr waiting as per auto driver version) from the main chawk area near Gandhi mandapam. You can also have bus, but it won't come upto the fort. It will drop you at the chawraha near the fort and you have to take auto at rs.100/- from there. You can also walk upto fort entrance which is not too far. Probably it will take 10-15mints walk from the drop of the the bus.
Do keep water bottle and umbrella, sunglasses are the must . You do have to pay for tickets . The ticket counter is at the parking area( left side of yours when you will get down from the reserved vehicle) . Personally I don't find the way to go to the vattakotai beach which is known black sand-beach. Overall it's a beautiful place."
