What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the rewarding trek to Tambdi Surla Waterfall, describing it as a beautiful, hidden gem within the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. The journey through lush forests and the serene ancient temple are significant highlights. While the trek is generally manageable, some find sections challenging, and preparedness for leeches during monsoon is advised.
"A one hour trek (easy to moderate difficulty level) from the temple complex to reach the stunning waterfalls . The course of the waterfall has slightly changed due to a landslide in 2023. But the view and the trail is very beautiful. A must visit place for adventure lovers, but please respect nature and do not litter or dirty this beautiful hidden gem."

"The trek was fantastic. We went as a family with our kids aged 5 and 8, along with my wife. While some sections were a bit challenging, particularly for older individuals, they were still manageable. The trek itself felt like stepping into an open-world game, complete with stream crossings and towering trees. Before entering, you’ll need to get a ticket from the forest guards, who are readily available at the entry points—this process is quite easy. Remember to carry your own provisions, such as protein bars and water, as there are no amenities available inside after visiting the Tambi Surla temple, which is a common destination. It’s advisable to hire a guide, although they might move quickly at times, the path is clear enough to follow. A word of caution: there is no network coverage, especially for Airtel users, so plan accordingly. Take your time to enjoy the trek; it’s truly rewarding and well worth it. "The approximately 1 hour (4km) Trek to the waterfalls begins from the gate of the Mahadev temple where you can park your vehicle. You have to pay an entry fee of 100₹ to the friendly forest officer who will guide you. the Trek itself is quite steep at places (so you need to stop take some rest and continue) and filled with dense vegetation during monsoon. There are arrow markings and stones painted in white which direct you to the waterfalls. the officer said that leeches are prominent in the Trek but thankfully I didn't encounter any. being the first person of the day to reach the falls I enjoyed this natural beauty all by myself. the rains started pouring just when I was contemplating to venture a bit further into the rocks and underneath the the gushing water, but decided not to as it was a bit slippery and not worth the risk as I was alone. on my return to the base I met many groups of tourists who were now climbing up, all of them had the same question, How much time to the waterfalls?
It's worth the experience. Do keep yourself hydrated and carry some snacks as well (please don't litter). There are small shops at the base as well.
my plan was to head to the legendary Doodhsagar falls next however the friendly forest officer said that the falls were closed as of date (1st July 2023) hence couldn't make it."
