What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Shamirpet Deer Park a decent spot for a short nature walk and family time, especially for picnics. However, many express disappointment with the limited visibility of deer and the park's small size. Staff behavior and the restricted access to the main forest area have also been points of concern for some.
"Its a nice place to go for a walk, spent time with family & friends in nature. If you are looking for deers, you might have dive deep into the forest area, take help from local rangers to spot them. Best time would be Saturday or Sunday as weekdays can be too isolated for family and kids."

"Disappointed because of the staff. The entrance ticket was ₹30 for adults and ₹20 for children. When we entered the park, the ticket counter lady just informed that the park is under maintenance and don't make noise else the deer will not come.
We went inside with loads of excitement. But to our surprise the park was almost squeezed to mere maybe 200-400 meters in circumference. We waited for almost 20 minutes and we could not sight even a single 🦌. Along with us there was another family. We came all the way travelling from as far as 30 kilometres only to see the deer.
We both were disappointed. We walked upto the officials demanding to refund as there are no deer and the park was closed for even exploring other areas with in the premises.
The officials were only parroting "Since it was online paid they cannot refund. The deer will come after 6:00pm (ironically Park closes at 5:00pm). Also we do not have funds to maintain etc..)"
Upon we pressurized to complaint only then they instructed one of the maintenance personnel to put some feed so that the deer will come.
To our surprise, after the feed was put and a Bell was rung, two of the deers were visible in the bushes. You can see the same in videos.
Please do not visit this park now. And Even if visit, please pay cash only and Not UPI payment."

Understanding the Deer Population
To increase your chances of seeing deer, it's highly recommended to visit in the late afternoon, particularly around 6 PM. This is when the animals are often most active and may come closer to the accessible areas, especially if rangers are present or if there's a feeding time. Engaging with local rangers for guidance can also be beneficial in locating the deer.
It's important to manage expectations; while the park is a conservation area, the visibility of deer can depend on various factors, including the time of day, season, and the animals' natural behavior.
Planning Your Visit: Practicalities and Expectations

The park is relatively small, and while it features a children's play area, the main forest area might have limited access. Weekdays offer a quieter experience, whereas weekends are more popular with families, leading to a slightly busier atmosphere.
