Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Nag Vasuki Temple for its spiritual atmosphere, ancient mythology, and serene location by the Ganges. The historic idol of Vasuki and the peaceful vibes are frequently mentioned positives. However, some note the need for better cleanliness and limited food options in the immediate vicinity.

"Nagvasuki Temple in Prayagraj is a spiritually enriching and peaceful place, especially for devotees of Lord Shiva. Located on the banks of the Ganga, it is known for its serene atmosphere, traditional architecture, and the historic idol of Nag Vasuki along with Lord Shiva. The temple is well-maintained, and during festivals like Nag Panchami and Mahashivratri, it becomes vibrant with rituals and devotional activities. The priests are respectful and helpful, and the surrounding area offers a calm environment for prayer and meditation. Visiting this temple gives a deep sense of connection to ancient traditions and divine energy — a must-visit for anyone in Prayagraj."

Jaideep Sarvaiya

"This is an ancient temple connected with the Puranas of Vasuki the serpent God. Within the campus there is also the Asi Madhav temple. The deity is enclosed in a glass cover about 6 feet tall. The day I visited during Pitri paksh of September 2025 - 14th the temple was crowded with Pandits and Yajamans conducting the ancestral rites. Because of flood situation in Prayagraj the Ganges had come to the steps of the temple."

Abhijit Mukherjee

"Good place but it’s our duty to keep the premises clean … after pitradosh , kaalsarp dosh puja people usually through items like wrapper of agarbatti etc near by … though multiple dustbins are installed there ….
People also rub the leftover sindoor in the wall of temple that should be avoided ….
Or temple samiti can keep or better hang a piece of cloth near Hanuman ji so that people can clean their hands after “ tilak “

Only very few stalls are there like gupchup … faluda , etc , no shop of food items, better carry ur own food and water"

According to scriptures, Vasuki, the king of serpents, played a pivotal role in this epic event, serving as the rope used by the gods and demons to churn the ocean in search of the nectar of immortality. The temple is dedicated to this powerful serpent deity, believed to reside in the underworld.

Visitors often come to seek blessings for protection and prosperity, as Vasuki is also associated with wealth and hidden treasures. The presence of the Asi Madhav temple within the campus further adds to its spiritual significance, linking it to Lord Vishnu.
