SHASHI KUMAR SRIVASTAV

"The temple has special significance, as all three form of powers, Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswati and Mahakali are present here in the form of stone statues. Says Mahant Vijay Shankar Giriji that though vaishno Devi has three Goddesses, they are present there in pinda form only, Inside the sanctum, black stone statues of the Goddesses are placed on a throne in a standing posture. Their attire is sari and mukut (crown). There is also Vyom Bhairav with the deities which is called part of Shiva. A big havan Kunda (4-5feet deep) just in front of the sanctum, is where people offer worship materials continuously in its fire and do religious rituals with sindoor and flowers. A large verandah covers the front space of the sanctum and havan Kunda lies in front of the exit gate of this verandah"

Anurag Kumar
