What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Film City Mumbai offers a glimpse into the world of Bollywood, with its live shows and museum being highlights for many visitors. While some find the limited access to sets and the commercial nature disappointing, others appreciate the inspirational scale of the industry and enjoy the photo opportunities. It's often considered a decent one-time visit, particularly for families, though expectations should be managed regarding immersive studio access.
"Bollywood Park is a decent place to visit, but not as grand as expected. Most of the film sets are either covered or not accessible, so you only get a glimpse of a few memorable spots like Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chasmah sets from far that are ok for quick photos.
The museum section is actually nice for clicking pictures, with well-designed setups and film-themed decor. The live show was the highlight well performed and quite engaging. Overall, it’s good for a one-time visit, especially if you enjoy Bollywood vibes, but don’t go in expecting full studio-style access as ticket price does not justify it."

"HIGHLIGHT - If you have been to Hyderabad's version, you will likely find this visit a complete letdown.
My recent visit to Mumbai Film City was far from what I had hoped. To start, the nearest metro station is Aarey, it is about 4 km away. From there, take an auto (no more than ₹150) straight to the official ticket counter. Be cautious, several individuals may try to sell you tickets along the way at inflated prices. Avoid them, as they are scammers.
After a long wait, we were taken inside the premises by an AC bus. Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming from the beginning. Compared to Hyderabad's Film City, this one feels small, restricted, and poorly organized. Most of what you see are large tin sheets covering the sets, there is no access to the actual sets themselves. It felt like being shown billboards of what you could see, but never actually do.
The tour ends at Bollywood Park, which hosts a few staged performances. This was the only mildly enjoyable part. The on site restaurant is strictly vegetarian, which may not appeal to everyone, and the food was overpriced for its quality.
Overall, Mumbai Film City lacks substance, feels commercialized, and fails to deliver the behind the scenes magic one would expect. If you have been to Hyderabad's version, you will likely find this visit a complete letdown."

"1 hour of outdoor activities
2 hours of indoor activities
tmkoc set is not accessible to anyone - you can just see the gate by ~200 metres away from it
They don’t show you any ongoing shooting
Indoor activities are good for kids
Adults might find it boring"
