Reviews Summary

Chota Imambara is praised for its stunning architecture, particularly the 'Palace of Lights' interior with its chandeliers, and its historical significance. Visitors enjoy the peaceful ambiance and the picturesque reflections in the pond. However, some reviews mention issues with external upkeep and cleanliness, and the Shahi Hammam is noted as not being well-maintained.

"I don't know how beautiful from inside of this place but I'm definitely sure that once u see the condition from outside of this monument is in very bad condition and also the cleanliness is in very very drastic condition. Someone is coming from very far may be from the other states may be from the other countries to visit the historical places of lucknow and what he will achieve after visiting this type of places---only sadness nothing more."

Mr. Explorer

"Visited Chota Imambara in August 2025 and it was a peaceful experience, though we reached a little after sunset. It's best to come before it gets dark to fully enjoy the stunning interiors and reflections on the water. Built by Nawab Muhammad Ali Shah in 1838, the structure is beautifully ornate and holds deep cultural value. Mr Ikhlaq and friends guided us here too. Right opposite, there’s a local food court where you can enjoy Lucknowi biryanis and other tasty snacks. A calm and culturally rich spot worth visiting."

"Chota Imambara is a major tourist attraction in Lucknow. This place is a part of the complete "Nawab Circuit" that includes Bada Imambara, Shahi Bauli, Bhool Bhulaiya and Photo Gallery. You can either purchase a combo-ticket for the entire "Nawab Circuit" or buy separate tickets for selective places. Chota Imambara mesmerized me with its mind-blowing ancient architecture, massive water-pond, gardens, lush greenery and most importantly the antique collections inside the Imambara. Visiting this Imambara was tantamount to going back in time and the complete vibe of this location is bound to give you goosebumps. There is also a Shahi Hammam (Bathing Room), which is not too well-maintained. Overall, the Chota Imambara encapsulates centuries of Nawabi heritage under one-roof. Highly recommended to visit. 🕌🌟"
