Reviews Summary

Lion's Point is celebrated for its absolutely stunning panoramic views, especially during the monsoon when waterfalls and lush greenery abound. Visitors love the breathtaking sunrise/sunset vistas and the experience of enjoying local street food amidst the cool breeze. However, the lack of guardrails and potential for slippery terrain require caution, and weekend crowds can be a significant drawback.

"Absolutely stunning viewpoint! Lion’s Point offers some of the best panoramic views in Lonavala, especially during the monsoon when the hills are lush and waterfalls are everywhere. The sunrise and sunset views are breathtaking. There are plenty of food stalls selling hot tea, corn, and snacks—perfect for enjoying the cool breeze. The area can get crowded on weekends, so I recommend going early in the morning or on a weekday for a more peaceful experience. Don’t forget good shoes—the terrain can get slippery. A must-visit if you’re in Lonavala!"

Sarbjeet Singh

"Lion’s Point is one of the most popular viewpoints in Lonavala, especially during monsoon. The drive up is beautiful, and once you reach the top you get wide views of valleys, waterfalls, and green hills all around. On a cloudy day, the mist rolling in makes it even more dramatic.

There are small stalls selling tea, corn, and snacks, which adds to the experience. The place does get crowded on weekends, and parking can be a little chaotic, but if you go early morning or on a weekday, it feels more peaceful.

Overall, it’s a simple spot but the views make it worth the stop if you’re in Lonavala."

Foggy Fun at Lion Point, Lonavala – A Chilled-Out Getaway!

Hi all!
Me and my friend went on a much-needed escape to Lonavala last year in September, and let me tell you — the entire place was like a dream! 🌫️🍃 We visited Lion Point, and all we could see was fog, fog, and more fog! 😂 But honestly, it was magical. The cool breeze, mist-covered cliffs, and peaceful silence made it a perfect hill station vibe.

We started our journey from Hyderabad to Pune City by bus (travels). Before reaching, I had booked a car via ZOOM Cars — selected a Renault Duster, but surprise! After reaching Pune, the Duster was unavailable, and they gave us a Kia Carens instead — a big and comfy car! We laughed saying, “Even if we don’t get a hotel, we can sleep in this car only!” 😄

Speaking of hotels, I had pre-booked a room via OYO, but unfortunately, the hotel declined our booking when we arrived. 😤 That was disappointing, but we didn’t give up — we searched nearby and actually found a better place to stay than the one we had booked. So, a small twist turned into a good thing!

We roamed around all of Lonavala, checking out the viewpoints, local stalls, and enjoyed the misty weather — just perfect for a relaxing trip away from city chaos.

Tips for Travelers:

Be prepared for unexpected weather and hotel changes.

Book trusted stays and double-confirm.

If you're visiting in monsoon or post-monsoon — fog is guaranteed!

Carry warm clothes and a camera for some Insta-worthy shots!

Lonavala is a must-visit for nature lovers and peace seekers. Lion Point was a foggy fairyland. I’ll definitely visit again with more friends!

👉 After staying for two days in Lonavala, we headed to Devkund Waterfall. 🌊"

The open space allows kids to explore, but constant supervision is crucial due to the lack of guardrails near the cliff edges. Ensure children wear sturdy, non-slip shoes as the ground can be uneven and slippery, especially during or after rain. The availability of snacks like Maggi and corn makes it easy to keep little ones happy. Consider visiting on a weekday to avoid overwhelming crowds. Reddit

For a bit of fun, the ATV rides nearby can be an exciting activity for older children and teens, adding an element of adventure to the trip. Remember to pack essentials like water, sunscreen, and a basic first-aid kit. The drive to Lion's Point itself, especially through the ghats, can also be an enjoyable part of the family journey. In-depth insights and expert knowledge

The Allure of Monsoon Magic

Lion's Point truly transforms during the monsoon season. The once-green hills become a vibrant tapestry of emerald, and the dry cliffs erupt with numerous cascading waterfalls. The air is thick with mist, often creating a surreal, ethereal atmosphere where clouds seem to float right through you. This is when the viewpoint lives up to its reputation as one of Lonavala's most scenic spots. The dramatic landscapes and the sound of falling water create an unforgettable sensory experience. InstagramReddit

However, this beauty comes with a caveat: slippery conditions. The paths and viewing areas can become treacherous after rain, making sturdy, non-slip footwear absolutely essential. Visibility can also be significantly reduced by fog, which, while magical, means you might not always see the full panoramic vista. Despite these challenges, many visitors find the misty, waterfall-laden views to be the most captivating, making the monsoon a prime, albeit slightly more adventurous, time to visit. Reddit

For photographers, the monsoon offers unique opportunities. The dramatic lighting, the mist, and the powerful waterfalls create dynamic scenes. However, protecting your gear from moisture is crucial. The overall experience during this season is one of raw, untamed natural beauty, a stark contrast to the drier months.

Navigating the Crowds and Finding Peace

Lion's Point is undeniably popular, and its accessibility makes it a magnet for weekend visitors. On Saturdays and Sundays, expect significant crowds, making parking a challenge and the viewing experience less tranquil. The sheer volume of people can detract from the natural beauty for some. Reddit

To truly appreciate the serenity of Lion's Point, strategic timing is key. Visiting during weekday mornings is highly recommended. This allows for a more peaceful experience, with fewer people and easier access to parking. The early morning light also offers beautiful photographic opportunities. Another excellent time is just after rainfall, when the initial rush of weekend visitors might have subsided, and the landscape is refreshed and vibrant. Reddit

If a weekend visit is unavoidable, arriving very early in the morning (shortly after sunrise) or later in the afternoon before sunset can help you avoid the peak midday rush. While the crowds are a part of the experience for many, planning your visit can significantly enhance your enjoyment and allow you to connect more deeply with the stunning natural surroundings. Reddit

Adventure and Local Flavors

Beyond the breathtaking views, Lion's Point offers a taste of local adventure and culinary delights. For thrill-seekers, Adventure Wheels, located near Jungle Dhada at Lion's Point, provides exciting ATV rides. These rides offer a fun way to experience the rugged terrain surrounding the viewpoint, adding an adrenaline rush to your visit. Instagram

Complementing the adventure is the vibrant street food scene. Numerous stalls line the viewpoint, offering a variety of local snacks and beverages. Visitors can enjoy hot tea, perfect for the cool mountain breeze, along with popular items like Maggi noodles, corn on the cob, and crispy pakoras. These affordable treats are an integral part of the Lion's Point experience, allowing you to savor local flavors while soaking in the scenery. Reddit

These elements combine to make Lion's Point more than just a viewpoint; it's a destination offering a blend of natural beauty, light adventure, and authentic local tastes, catering to a diverse range of visitors.
