Reviews Summary
Visitors are captivated by the Lachen Chu River's mesmerizing jade green waters and the refreshing mountain air, describing it as a beautiful and scenic stop on the way to Lachen. While the river's beauty is undeniable, many caution about its strong currents and advise admiring it from a safe distance. The experience is often enhanced by the stunning Himalayan backdrop and the purity of the river's water.
"Beautiful place in Sikkim. Usually best if you halt there for and night and visit Gurudongmar lake the next day.
Speaking from personal experience - You should avoid visiting from late Dec to Jan because there’s a high chance of snowfall that will necessarily block the roads.
The cars don’t use chains around their tyre, so the tyres skid and it becomes extremely risky. It can be very beautiful and dangerous at the same time. So beware!
Once there’s snowfall, power supply and network gets cut off, drivers refuse to rescue the tourist so the next best help you would get is near bansoi bridge which is 7-8 kms away, that tourists need to trek. Very inconvenient for middle-aged and senior citizens."
