What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the breathtaking, magical views of the mountains and valleys, calling it an excellent and well-maintained spot with beautiful natural surroundings. However, many highlight the extremely narrow and challenging access road, which can lead to heavy traffic and stressful driving conditions, potentially spoiling the experience for some.
"I honestly can’t express my feelings — the experience is on another level. The fresh air at the top of the mountains, combined with the breathtaking view of the river and mountain range, is something you have to feel in person. Absolutely magical and a must-visit spot"
Rahul Sakpal
"As a scenic location, this is among the best in Mahabaleshwar. But all the fun is spoiled because of the extremely narrow road leading to the point (up to the parking area that barely accommodates 10 cars, beyond which you must walk). The cement road is narrow and elevated about a foot from ground. You have to drive carefully to avoid either to stop the left wheel from going off the road into the ditch, or rubbing the vehicles coming from the other side. If you are traveling in an expensive car, it's best to avoid this place."

"A beautiful breathtaking view. Excellent spot. Easily accessible. Beautiful natural environment. Very clean and we'll maintained. Lovely place to visit."

In-depth insights and expert knowledge
The History and Significance of Lodwick Point
The point offers spectacular views of the surrounding valleys, hills, and the dense forest canopy that characterizes the Mahabaleshwar region. It's a popular destination for those seeking peaceful scenery and a connection with nature. The historical context makes it more than just a viewpoint; it's a place where nature and history converge.
Navigating the Challenging Access Road
Several reviews highlight the stress of navigating this road, with some vehicles getting dangerously close to the edge. The newly constructed concrete road, while an improvement, is still not wide enough for two sedans to pass comfortably. This has led to situations where drivers have had to reverse for kilometers. Visitors with expensive or low-clearance cars are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution or consider alternative arrangements.
To mitigate these issues, it's recommended to visit during off-peak hours or consider parking further down the main road and walking the remaining distance. This approach not only avoids the driving stress but also allows for a more immersive experience of the natural surroundings.
Experiencing Lodwick Point in the Monsoon

While the roads can be more challenging due to rain, the visual reward is immense. Many visitors find the monsoon experience at Lodwick Point to be the most magical.
