What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Semmozhi Poonga is appreciated as a green oasis in Chennai, offering a diverse collection of plants and a tranquil atmosphere, especially in the evenings. However, some visitors note that the park's maintenance could be improved to match its reputation and entry fee, with littering and upkeep being recurring concerns.
"Semmozi Poonga is best place for plant lovers. Earlier Woodlands drive-in restaurant is occupied then government converted into park and open to public in 2010. Good things is some of the old trees are retained and developed the park.
Good time to visit the park evening and if you go during oct, nov and dec park will be more greenery.
You can’t enter to specific area inside the park if cinema shooting happen."

"Despite the number of visitors, the place felt neglected and did not live up to the hype. The entry fee of ₹75 for adults feels overpriced considering the current condition.
The garden might look beautiful during specific flower festivals, but on regular days it lacks proper upkeep and does not justify its reputation. Needs much better maintenance to truly match the expectations set for a botanical attraction."
