"A beautiful big temple near IIT Chennai. Temple is in middle of a road junction.
Inside photography is not allowed.
Main deity is Shiva. A Perumal also have separate sanathi. Ambal alankar is very divine. Ganapati, Murugan, Bhairavar and other deities in separate sanathi.
Long before I have read this temple history. There is no any Sthalm puranam ( history) board.
Temple is managed by private trust. I asked for photography permission. They declined and told that permission required from committee.
Most devotees are VIPs I think."

The Unique Adhyantha Prabhu
This fusion is believed to represent the Rudra (Shiva) aspect, as both Hanuman and Ganesha are considered forms of Shiva. The conception of such an idol is rooted in ancient scriptures and philosophical interpretations, making it a focal point for devotees seeking holistic blessings. The temple's management and priests often share insights into the mythology behind this extraordinary deity, adding another layer of fascination for visitors.
Many visitors are drawn to the temple specifically to witness and seek blessings from the Adhyantha Prabhu. The sheer uniqueness of this idol sets Madhya Kailash Temple apart from other religious sites in Chennai, making it a must-visit for those interested in Hindu iconography and mythology.
Temple Restoration and Infrastructure
This restoration project highlights the commitment to preserving heritage sites in Chennai. The elevation is a proactive measure to protect the temple from the impacts of heavy rainfall and potential waterlogging, which can be a concern in the region. The process involves meticulous planning and execution to ensure the structural integrity of the ancient temple.
The temple's location, situated at a busy junction and serving as a gateway to the IT corridor, also means it's a hub of activity. The ongoing infrastructure developments around the temple, such as flyovers, further underscore its importance as a landmark in the city's evolving landscape.
Spiritual Significance and Daily Rituals
A notable aspect of the temple's spiritual practice is the daily ancestor worship rituals, often referred to as 'Thithi' ceremonies. These rituals are performed to honor deceased ancestors and are a significant part of Hindu traditions. The temple priests can conduct these ceremonies on behalf of devotees, making it a convenient option for those seeking to perform these rites.
The temple's serene atmosphere, coupled with these daily rituals, provides a peaceful environment for prayer and reflection. Many visitors find the spiritual ambiance conducive to meditation and seeking inner peace amidst the urban chaos. The temple's management by a private trust ensures that these traditions are maintained with care and devotion.
