"I had the privilege of visiting the Chausath Yogini Temple in Jabalpur, and it was a truly enriching experience. The temple, dedicated to 64 Yoginis (female deities), is perched on a hilltop, offering not only a spiritually uplifting atmosphere but also breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

The architecture is unique and captivating, with a circular layout and beautifully carved stone idols. It’s a peaceful and serene place, perfect for anyone looking to connect with history, culture, and spirituality. The climb to the temple is a bit challenging but absolutely worth it, as the views from the top are absolutely stunning.

The temple has an ancient vibe, with a sense of tranquility that makes it ideal for meditation or simply enjoying the serenity. The locals are friendly and welcoming, and the temple itself is well-maintained.

One of the most striking aspects of the temple is its historical significance and the sense of mysticism that surrounds it. If you're visiting Jabalpur, the Chausath Yogini Temple is a must-see — a perfect blend of culture, history, and natural beauty."

"Chausat Yogini temple is located on hilltop above the river Naramdha, near Bhedaghat of Jabalpur. Chausat Yogini temple is one of the oldest heritage site in the country which was built in the 10th Century by the Kalachuri Kingdom. According to the inscriptions, Queen Alhanadevi, wife of Kalachuri King gayakarna built the Gauri Shankara temple in 1155 CE during the rule of her son Narasimhadeva. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga.

One needs to climb 150 steps to reach the main temple from the base of the hill. The climb is not that difficult if you are moderatly fit. However Senior citizens and those with knee issues are suggested to take a ramp like incline beside the steps. There are stone benches provided midway, in case if you want to take breath and short brake.

This is one of the four Chuasat Yogini temples in India, two of which are in Odisha state at Hirapur and Ranipur. The other two are in Madhya Pradesh state at Khajuraho and the Bhedaghat. This Bhedaghat Chuasat Yogini temple is considered to be the largest one among the four.

As the name suggests, the temple has 64 shrines built along the walls of its circular premises, each containing a carved figure of a Yogini, and a central shrine dedicated to Lord SHive and Goddess Parvati. The Kalachuri built structure had only the Yoginis while the central shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati was built later in recent days.
The temple is in the form of a circular cloister harboring a number of niches on its inner circumference. The outer diameter of the cloister is 130 feet 9 inches and the inner diameter is 116 feet 2 inches.
It is believed that the building of the old indian parliament have been inspired from this Chausat Yogini temple. This temple is also known as Golaki Math.

"The Chausath Yogini Temple is a peaceful and spiritually enriching place, perfect for those interested in history, architecture, and divine energy. Located on a hilltop, the temple offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding landscape, making the short climb up the steps totally worth it.

What makes this temple unique is its circular structure and the presence of 64 small shrines dedicated to the Yoginis, surrounding the central shrine. The architecture is simple yet powerful, with a deep sense of ancient mysticism. It's said to be one of the oldest surviving Yogini temples in India, and being there truly feels like stepping back in time.

The temple is well-maintained and not overly crowded, which allows for a calm and introspective experience. There's a certain silence and energy here that brings peace to the mind.
