What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bekal Fort is widely praised for its stunning architecture, breathtaking sea views, and historical significance. Visitors love the panoramic vistas, especially during sunset, and the well-maintained grounds. While generally a peaceful spot, some reviewers mention occasional discomfort due to couples using secluded areas for intimate moments.
"One of the best and must visit place in the list of you're exploring northern Kerala. The beauty is immense and suits for sunset views. Get ready to spend atleast 3 hours to witness and soak in the beauty of architecture and amazing views of the Arabian ocean. Many movie shooting had taken place in this historical fort. It is interesting to note that once tippu sultan had taken over the fort as military watchtower and apparently slipped into british empire after the fall of Tippu. It is also better to add bekkal park beach in the watchlist since it is very near to the fort and neatly maintained. Though the water is not suited for swimming activity it will provide other activities like exhibition, shopping, dinning, boat ride and great environment for quality family time."
