What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ajaigarh Fort is lauded as a hidden treasure with stunning views and rich historical significance, particularly its ancient temples and kunds. However, visitors must be prepared for a challenging trek and a lack of amenities, making it less suitable for those with health issues or seeking comfort. The fort's untouched nature is a major draw, but its remoteness requires careful planning.
"Warning for elderly people and visitors with adverse health conditions: One has to climb 460+ steps to reach the fort that's located 800mtrs above sea level, then walk another 1+ kms to reach the ruins . It's a beautiful place hidden in the forest on a hilltop and the bird's eye view from top is absolutely worth the climb . But not advisable for visitors in poor health condition ."

"It's a magical place, though quite hard to visit & ignored by authorities but a complete untouched nature, it's about 1000 years old, mostly stands as ruins but the Ajaypal Baba temple, Bhuteshwar temple & Ganga Jamuna kunds are charismatic & considered to fulfill all your wishes. It is said that even today Ajaypal baba comes at night to pay prayers to Bhuteshwar maharaj & every morning fresh flowers are found there, while no human has ever been able to stay overnight at this Fort. Further about Ganga Jamuna kunds, it is said that it has medicinal effects & can cure many liver & stomach related diseases. There is also a saying about an old treasur, all information related to that treasure is there on an inscription, but no one ever been able to translate that till now. Never go alone if you are visiting this Fort, try to accompany some local guide & go in a group as it's all together a secluded & forest area, also carry enough water & food as there is no availability of anything at top, it needs moderate to difficult tracking of 40-45 min & lot of walking at Fort area so ensure you are fit enough for this trip"
