"Breathtaking Views & An Easy Climb: A Perfect Weekend Trek!
Korigad Fort, located near Lonavala, is an absolute gem, especially during the monsoon and post-monsoon seasons. The trek itself is relatively small and quite manageable, making it perfect for beginners, families, or anyone looking for a quick escape into nature without an exhausting climb.
Once you reach the top, you're greeted by a massive, flat plateau. The main attraction is the walk along the entire perimeter wall (ramparts) of the fort, which takes about 45 minutes to an hour and is an easy, scenic stroll.
The views from here are simply spectacular. On a clear day, you get stunning panoramic vistas of the lush green valleys, the entire Aamby Valley township, and the shimmering waters of the lake below. We went when it was partly misty, and watching the clouds roll in and envelop the cliffs was a magical experience in itself.
The top of the fort is beautiful and surprisingly large, with two serene lakes (ponds) and, at the right time of year, fields of tiny, beautiful wildflowers. It's a fantastic spot for photography, a peaceful walk, and just soaking in the raw beauty of the Sahyadris.
Highly recommended for a half-day trip!"

"Korigad Fort is a great place for a short and fun trek! It takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour and is of moderate difficulty. There are two routes—one near the stairs, but I recommend the alternate route, which makes the trek more interesting and scenic. The view from the top is amazing, with two lakes, two temples, a few old cannons, and a glimpse of Aamby Valley Lake nearby. The fort is quite big and peaceful, especially if you visit on a weekday when it’s less crowded."
