Many appreciate the ability to choose riding pace based on experience, leading to an enjoyable ride for all. The stunning lava field and meadow scenery further enhance the memorable equestrian adventure.
"We went horseback riding today and chose the Lava tour.
The riding group consisted of about 30 people. The groups were later divided into beginners and more experienced riders. The more experienced riders did a lot of tölt, which was great."

"AMAZING! Best horseback riding experience my daughter and I have had and we’ve been riding dozens of times. The guides took such care to make sure we stayed together on the trail and took beautiful photos of us on my phone. The horses were very well taken care of. Thank you!"

"Incredible. Much better than expected! I have my own horses and ride quite a bit, but expected this to be like so many others, just plodding along slowly, single file, at a snail's pace. But here, they select horses for you based upon your experience and capability. They asked if I wanted one that liked to go fast, and the answer was yes!
They separate novices from "those with much horse experience and excellent balance" from the rest that opt for a very nice comfortable and conservative meander through the meadows."
We spent a few minutes getting acquainted with our horses at a leisurely pace then periods of faster, then slower, then faster enjoying the smooth (almost) gaited trot of the Icelandic horses.
The scenery was beautiful, with a lava field to one side and meadows of lupine and other wildflowers on the other. Upon returning and joining back up with the other group, we heard many compliments from those in the more leisurely group as well, so I'm confident that it would be a highlight of the trip to Iceland whichever option you choose. Very highly recommended!"
