Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Secret Lagoon for its historical charm, natural beauty, and affordability, offering an authentic Icelandic geothermal experience. While some find the facilities basic and the pool floor a bit slippery, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, highlighting its relaxing atmosphere and unique setting.

"We had a great time here. Receptionist was friendly. Plenty of space to store your shoes on the rack. Many many lockers in the locker room so it was easy to spread out to have some privacy. While I was in there I noticed a worker drying the floor, which was nice. You need to shower before hand; the woman's showers had shampoo, body wash, and conditioner available. It didn't seem too crowded when we went, we were able to have a little area to ourselves. The floor of the pool is made up of small Lava rocks, so that felt nice to walk on. Water was mostly warm, some spots were hot. Very relaxing."

"It's the oldest thermal bath originally built in 1891 and one of the most affordable thermal bath in Iceland. It's located in the Golden Circle so it's convenient to get to. Note that it closes at 8 PM so don't arrive too late. The facility is really basic but you get to see a rustic view. The floors of the pools feel slippery and slimy, so if you're really picky about cleanliness, this may not be good for you."

"Everything was perfect – very clean and well maintained. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Nice shower facilities, warm and relaxing atmosphere, and a good-sized pool that wasn’t crowded when we visited. Floats and pipes were available to help you relax, and security ensured the place was used respectfully.

As the oldest hot water lagoon in Iceland, it felt magical with the natural surroundings. Loved the little details too, like the machine to pat dry swimsuits after use. Overall, spotless, well thought out, and great value for money.

Highly recommended!"
